NEW BOSTON COMIC CON DATE HECK YEAH

So I promised I would post if the Boston Comic Con got rescheduled, and although this is late, I am a man of my word. So the BCC is better and more awesomer with more time. It's now happening August 3rd and 4th at the Seaport World Trade Center, a classier establishment for conventions than the Prudential Center (sorry for the harshness, Prudential.) Here is a link to the official website.

Also, here is a list of the guests I am most excited about:

Mike Mignola

Neal Adams

Scott Snyder

Tim Sale

This con is going to be amazing.

Also, love this Tim Sale t-shirt design.

Watchmen.

Everybody always says that Watchmen is the pinnacle of human comics achievement, that it's one of the godly stories of the 20th century, that is indubitably one of the greatest stories ever told. But I honestly do not understand the hype over it. Sure, I have some respect for it, and this blog post isn't going to be about how much I despise Watchmen and anything Watchmen related, because I don't hate it. I simply don't understand why so many people seem to love it. I have read it. I would never form an opinion like this without seeing this kind of thing for myself. The first time reading it, I found it to be bizarre, incredibly violent, and slightly disturbing. So then I thought, "It must be one of those stories with an underlying plot that no one understands the first time around." So I read it again. Same thoughts. And now, I really don't understand the love for it. Perhaps there is still some hidden theme that I never could wrap my head around, but for now I have only some respect for it, reason being it's a classic. I personally did not like it nearly as much as its popularity would suggest I would.

Apologies, News, and Pandas

My apologies for not posting for about a month. I may have fallen into depression yesterday after the news that Boston Comic Con was postponed reached me. It's a completely understandable decision considering no one knew when the manhunt for the second suspect in the Marathon Bombings was going to end at that point. I'll post here if I learn when the rescheduled date is. To help lighten the sad mood of this week with the bombings and the postponing of Boston Comic Con, here is a video to make up for it just a little bit.

R.I.P Damian Wayne

Damian Wayne has always been my favorite version of Robin. And now, in the next issue of Batman Incorporated, he is going to die. This makes me very upset. I think that a character that brings an interesting personality like Damian's to the Batman Family should stay. I suppose all I can do now is reminisce and hope that he will be resurrected.

Embrace the Cats, Bats!

The reason he dislikes the cats probably has something to do with Catwoman.

Valentine's Day...Or One Month Til Pi Day?

For some people February 14 may mean flowers and chocolates and loving people. But not for me! February 14 is not a symbol of love, but one of excitement for an upcoming holiday. Only one month until Pi Day! By the way, the following is from memory: 3.1415926535897932384626433884196169399375105820974...

Interesting Developments In The Holiday Season

I hope anyone reading this has had a great Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanzaa/whatever you celebrate season. I know I did. For Christmas I got the Retro Duo Portable, which I've found so far is an awesome game system. I also got a 19-in-1 Multitool. I caught up on Doctor Who and now only need to see the newest episodes from Season 7. I also just started watching the 2010 series Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch (the only person to play Sherlock Holmes with a name more ridiculous than Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Freeman (Bilbo!) which is really good. I bought a replica ring from The Lord of The Rings. Overall, a great holiday season.
